EVALUATION OF CALORIFIC VALUE OF BIO-BRIQUETTE

Abstract

In developing countries more wastage is obtaining such as solid municipal wastage, agricultural wastages etc., and the problem of dumping arises. The effective utilization of that waste can solve that problem and also we generate power from those wastes. Hence the concept of bio-briquettes was introduced. Various technologies were used to made the briquettes such as screw extrusion, ramming, hydraulic pressing etc., At present briquettes are preparing from saw dust, rice husk, oil mill sludge etc., My paper presents the briquettes made from the palm tree branches mixed with coconut coir, saw dust, screw pine, Indian Bdellium tree powder in different proportions. The briquettes prepared in the different ratios of 100:0 with and without binder(PW100,PWO100), 100:50(PW50), 100:20 with and without binder(PW20,PWO20), 0:100 by using only additives(AW100). The proximate analysis was conducted and those are compared with the Indian coal. The moisture content is high for AW100(8.53%),ash content is for AW100 (12.2%),volatile content is forPWB100(86.9%),fixed carbon is for PW20(17.38%) and calorific value KJ/KG is for PWO100(19,351).

EFFECT OF DELTA WINGS AND DEFLECTORS TO IMPROVE THE PRODUCTION IN ALGAL

Abstract

In-order to meet the increasing demand of energy people are switching over to renewable source of energy. Bio-fuels to a larger extent has proven to be a very effective replacement to fossil fuel and hence stress is given on its production. Algal culture is gaining prominence. These algae are cultured in open raceway ponds and studies are being carried out to improve its efficiency. Hydrodynamics of water like vertical mixing, dead zone formation are few of the important parameters affecting the efficiency of raceway. Herein, study on the improvement of the hydrodynamics of a raceway from CFTRI has been done. Effectiveness of Delta wing (DW) in improving vertical mixing of pond was studied, furthermore parameters like DW angle of attack and number of DWs were optimized. In addition effectiveness of deflectors in solving the issue of dead zones at bends was studied.

TREND ANALYSIS ON SOCIAL MEDIA USING NLP

Abstract

As we are heading towards Internet age resource demanding services are getting more and more popular. However size of these resources are growing rapidly, storage is becoming a problem. Natural Language Processing refers to ability of computer to process natural languages such as English, Marathi, Hindi, etc. Natural Language Processing is one of the most important stream in Artificial Intelligence,which helps computer understand an important part in which humans communicate. This paper focuses on trend analysis algorithms using Natural Language Processing. The result from this assessment shows how people think and are opinionated about different issues. For our result to be efficient these analysis techniques are applied among large masses. Nowadays we are surrounded by various platforms to give our opinion on something so it has become much easier to get the data.

A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF JUTE FIBER REINFORCED CONCRETE WITH PLAIN CEMENT CONCRETE

Abstract

This work aims to study the behaviour of jute fibers mixed in concrete as a reinforcing material for improving the mechanical properties of concrete. Several experiments were conducted on jute fibers, jute-cement mortar and jute fiber reinforced concrete in this research. For this study, a total of 24 mortar specimens for compressive strengths and 144 concrete specimens i.e. 48 cubes, 48 prisms and 48 cylinders each consisting of ordinary concrete, 0.5%, 1% and 2% Jute fiber reinforced concrete are tested for their compressive, flexural and split tensile strengths respectively for different curing periods such as 7, 28, 56 and 90 days.It is observed that the JFRC specimens with 1% jute content, cured up to 56 days has significant improvement of mechanical properties such as compressive strength, flexural strength and split tensile strength with respect to ordinary concrete.

SEISMIC RESPONSE EVALUATION OF BUILDING WITH VISCOUS AND VISCOELASTIC DAMPERS

Abstract

There is a great need for implementation of various earthquake mitigation techniques for effective control over the earthquake. The energy dissipation devices for dissipating earthquake energy needs to be studied in depth from view point of their efficiency in resisting earthquake forces. In this paper the performance of viscous and viscoelastic dampers are studied in detail. The seismic performances of these dampers are compared with normal bare frame building. Nonlinear modal time history analysis using Elcentro time history data was performed and parameters such as base shear, displacement time history at roof level, modal time period and maximum forces in outer and inner column are compared and presented. The modelling and analysis of building is done using SAP analysis package. The viscous and viscoelastic dampers are modeled by using nonlinear link element having property type dampers. The viscoelastic dampers are modeled as per Maxwell model of viscoelasticity. The properties of viscous dampers are calculated from shear storage modulus and shear loss modulus. The results obtained from analysis indicate efficient performance of viscous damper for resistance against maximum forces and control over displacement and base shear

EFFICIENT POWER OSCILLATION DAMPING CONTROL BY ADAPTIVE NEURO FUZZY CONTROLLER BASED POWER SYSTEM STABILIZER

Abstract

Low frequency Inter-area oscillations are undesirable which affects the goals of maximum power transfer and optimal power flow. Power system stabilizers can be added to the automatic voltage regulators on the generators to reduce the effect of low frequency inter area oscillation. Different types of power system stabilizers are developed to reduce low frequency inter area oscillations inter but the area is still open for the efficient power stabilizer, for handling the power oscillations without increasing the system controller complexity. This paper presents a way to improve the dynamic stability of interconnected power systems by damping of inter area oscillations in two area four machine power system by designing of Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System based controller. The implementation is done with the Simulink of MATLAB 2012(b).The obtained results shows that ANIFS-PSS is capable of damping power oscillations in multi area system.

AUTONOMOUS INTELLIGENT FLIGHT CONTROL OF FIXED-WING UAV BASED ON ADAPTIVE NEURO-FUZZY INFERENCE SYSTEM

Abstract

This paper develops an autonomous flight controller for fixed-wing UAV based on ANFIS. Three ANFIS modules are designed for controlling the altitude, the heading angle, and the speed of the UAV. In this way, the UAV position is controlled in threedimensional space: altitude, longitude, and latitude position. The simulation results show the capability of the designed approach and its very satisfied performance with good stability and robustness against UAV parametric uncertainties and external wind disturbance.
